- The political scientist called the use of "Hazel" in response to the attack by the Ukrainian Armed Forces a clear signal to the West.
The use of the Oreshnik missile system in Ukraine in response to the attack by the country's Armed Forces (AFU) was a clear signal to Western countries from Russia. Malek Dudakov, an American political scientist, told Izvestia about this on January 13.
Dudakov noted that the Russian strike is a warning that in the event of a further escalation of the conflict, the Russian side may use more and more advanced types of weapons.
"This is not some kind of shifting of the red lines. Rather, it is a signal that we are sending to representatives of Western countries and the United States, while the Ukrainian side is constantly crossing these very "red lines," the political scientist emphasized.
According to the expert, the American side currently does not possess this type of new weapons, which also have no analogues in Western countries.
The day before, the Deputy Representative of the United States to the United Nations (UN), Tammy Bruce, said that Russia's use of the Oreshnik complex was a dangerous escalation. In addition, she noted that the Oreshnik is capable of carrying a nuclear charge. Bruce also called on Ukraine and Europe to put an end to this conflict.
In response to Kiev's attack on the residence of Russian President Vladimir Putin, a massive strike using Hazelnuts was carried out on Ukrainian military facilities on January 9. At the same time, all the goals, namely energy infrastructure facilities that ensure the operation of the military-industrial complex (MIC), and facilities for the production of UAVs for the Armed Forces of Ukraine, were achieved. Later, the Russian Defense Ministry said that an aircraft repair plant in Lviv had been disabled with the help of a missile system.
