A criminal case was opened after a lynx attacked a girl near Ufa.
The Investigative Committee has opened a criminal case on negligence after a wild lynx attacked a 13-year-old girl at a children's sports camp in Bashkiria. This was reported on January 12 in the press service of the SU IC of Russia for the republic.
"A report has been revealed about an attack by a wild lynx on a 13-year-old girl on the territory of a children's sports camp in the Blagoveshchensk district. The victim is receiving the necessary medical care, her life and health are not in danger," the department's Telegram channel reported.
It is clarified that a criminal case has been opened under part 1 of Article 293 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Negligence"). Investigative measures are currently being carried out to identify those responsible for organizing security in the camp and to provide a legal assessment of their actions.
Earlier that day, the Wild Animal Rehabilitation Center told Izvestia that a wild lynx had attacked a child at the Ufa Sokol children's sports camp near Ufa. The incident occurred on January 7, when a lynx entered the camp from the forest.
It was noted that a lynx attacked a 12-year-old girl, but could only scratch her hand. The organization added that "nothing global happened" as a result of the incident. However, the institution clarified that the lynx behaved inappropriately, in particular, ate snow, then began to suffocate, and later died.
