As a result of a massive strike on January 9 with precision weapons on the military-industrial infrastructure of Ukraine, the Lviv Aircraft Repair plant was disabled and enterprises in Kiev assembling attack drones were hit, the Russian Defense Ministry said. The strike using the Oreshnik missile system caused a lively reaction around the world. All the details are in the Izvestia article.

Which targets were hit as a result of the strikes

According to information confirmed by several independent sources, on the night of January 9, the Russian Armed Forces launched a strike using a mobile ground-based missile system "Oreshnik". As a result, the Lviv State Aviation Repair Plant was put out of operation. This enterprise carried out repairs and maintenance of aviation equipment of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU), including F-16 and MiG-29 aircraft transferred by the West, as well as long- and medium-range attack drones.

In addition, as part of a massive strike using Iskander tactical missile systems and Kalibr sea-based cruise missiles in Kiev, the production facilities of two enterprises involved in assembling attack UAVs for attacks on Russian territory were hit. According to sources, energy infrastructure facilities that support the operation of the Ukrainian military-industrial complex were also affected.

How did they react to the use of "Hazel" in the world

The new use of the Russian Oreshnik missile system has caused widespread discussion in the Western media. So, the American and British media published articles with loud headlines, focusing on the speed and capabilities of the complex. According to Sky News, most of Europe is theoretically within range of the Oreshnik missile system.

At the same time, Die Welt pointed to the inability of the German Arrow 3 air defense system to intercept an Oreshnik missile or similar, and Berliner Zeitung reported that the deployment of the Russian missile system had worsened the split in NATO.

The Chinese publication Sohu noted that the Russian Hazel strike on strategic facilities of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) was a response to previous attacks by the Ukrainian side and serves as a demonstration of the Russian Federation's ability to defend its interests.

NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte said that the Hazelnut attack on Lviv was a signal for the alliance to abandon military assistance to Ukraine. At the same time, he assured that the bloc would not abandon Kiev's support.

Lviv Mayor Andriy Sadovyi, in an interview with the Ukrainian TV channel Your Place, noted that the Ukrainian Armed Forces do not have the technology to counter the Russian Oreshnik missile system. He also stressed that the flight of the Oreshnik was not detected by radar, and the damage from the strike was serious.
