Russian cities, glorified in Russian films, successfully compete with the world capitals of cinema. This was the conclusion reached on January 13 by analysts of the online hotel and apartment booking service Ostrovok in their research in light of the release of the new season of the TV series "Emily in Paris". They found out which movie locations Russian travelers dream of visiting.

St. Petersburg was among the most interesting places for Russians to visit: every fourth participant in the survey admitted that he wanted to visit the Northern capital, inspired by watching the movie "Peter FM" (26% of votes). Other desirable destinations in Russia also include Teriberka, which became famous after the release of the film Leviathan (17%), and the Perm Region, familiar to viewers from the drama Geographer Globe Drank (9%).

New York was the leader among foreign film destinations - the image of the metropolis from the series "Sex and the City" attracts 23% of respondents, only slightly behind St. Petersburg. One in five Russians surveyed dreams of going to Paris after watching the TV series "Emily in Paris" (22%).

The same number of respondents want to visit Spanish Catalonia and Oviedo from the movie "Vicky Cristina Barcelona" (22%). Almost the same number of travelers (21%) would like to visit Dubrovnik, Croatia, famous for the cinematic landscapes of the TV series "Game of Thrones". Watching the second season of the TV series "White Lotus" inspires 20% of respondents who dream of going to the Thai island of Koh Samui. In addition, Russian tourists (15%) dream of visiting London after watching the TV series "The Bridgertons" and the Jordanian desert of Wadi Rum, which they know about from the movie "Dune" (14%).

"Trips to movie locations create those most unforgettable experiences for a lifetime, which we call "Oh!-moments". It's easier to feel like the hero of your favorite movie than it might seem," Irina Kozlova, managing director of the Ostrov service, explained to Izvestia.

OneTwoTrip analysts told Izvestia on December 25 that the most expensive hotel order made by Russian tourists in 2025 through the service amounted to almost 7 million rubles. As follows from the company's data, this amount was spent by a company of six people, including one child, on a 24-day vacation with two meals a day at a five-star resort in the Maldives.

All important news is on the Izvestia channel in the MAX messenger.
