Moscow court bans sale of Red Book reed cat

The Khamovnicheskiy District Court of Moscow banned a website with an advertisement for the sale of a reed cat. This is stated in the case file, which was reviewed by Izvestia on January 12.

Potential buyers were offered to purchase a predator for private purposes. The court recalled that the reed cat is listed in the Red Book of Russia as a rare and protected species.

Last October, the Khoroshevsky District Court of Moscow granted the prosecutor's claim and banned websites with ads for the sale of otters listed in the Red Book of the Russian Federation.
