- The Israeli Ministry of Tourism announced a reduction of flights from Russia by almost three times
The number of flights from Russian cities to Israel decreased from 65 per week in 2019 to 24 in 2025. This was announced on January 11 by Hassan Madah, a representative of the Israeli Ministry of Tourism.
"In 2019, 65 weekly flights were operated between Russia and Israel from eight Russian cities. <...> Today the situation has changed. Flights between Russia and Israel are operated by only three airlines from five cities, with a total of 24 flights per week," Madakh told RIA Novosti.
He noted that the reduction was due not so much to the situation in Israel as to the general circumstances in the Russian aviation market.
Earlier, on December 24, 2025, it was reported that Russia and Brazil could resume direct flights between the countries with an increase in demand from Russian tourists. Flights were previously canceled due to insufficient demand, however, with an increase in the tourist flow, airlines plan to return to the route.
