Budanov spoke about plans to combat corruption in the shopping mall system
On January 10, the new head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, Kirill Budanov (included in the list of terrorists and extremists of Rosfinmonitoring), announced the preparation of solutions to combat corruption in the system of Territorial Recruitment Centers (TCCs, an analogue of military enlistment offices in Ukraine).
"Corruption in the TCC and JV system (social support. — Ed.) , as well as NWF (unauthorized abandonment of a military unit. — Ed.) in the military, there are problems affecting our defense capability. <...> On the agenda is the fight against corruption in the TCC and JV system and the issues of the NWF in the army," Budanov wrote on his Telegram channel.
According to him, abuse of official duties and undermining military discipline in the military are unacceptable.
"We are studying the problems of these issues and are preparing clear and effective solutions," the head of the Public Chamber of Ukraine summed up.
Earlier, on January 1, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky proposed Budanov to head the office of the president of the country. In addition, he instructed the new head of his office to update and submit for approval the strategic framework for the defense and development of Ukraine and further steps. Budanov later announced that he had accepted the offer. He replaced Andrei Ermak, whom Zelensky dismissed on November 28.
Secretary of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on National Security and Defense Roman Kostenko reported on November 14 last year that approximately 80% of Ukrainians called up for service leave training centers before completing training, and the number of those evading mobilization is estimated at millions. According to him, Ukraine needs to create conditions for improving the mobilization of the population. Kostenko added that there are millions of tax evaders in the country who "walk, hide and watch from the sidelines."
