An earthquake of magnitude 5.5 occurred in the Ogasawara Archipelago of Japan (Bonin Islands). This was announced on January 10 by the General Meteorological Administration of Japan.
It is noted that the source of the cataclysm lay at a depth of 30 km.
No damage or injuries were reported. There is also no threat of a tsunami as a result of the earthquake.
Earlier, on January 7, an earthquake of magnitude 6.4 occurred off the coast of the Philippines. The epicenter was located 75 km southeast of the city of Mati, which has a population of about 105 thousand people, and also 32 km from the municipality of Manai, where about 20.3 thousand people live.
