The UK has opened a criminal case into the helicopter crash in the Perm Region.
A criminal case has been opened in the Perm Region over the deaths of two people in the crash of a private Robinson helicopter at a ski resort. This was reported on January 8 by the Investigative Committee (IC) of Russia.
"A criminal case has been opened on the grounds of a crime under Part 3 of Article 263 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Violation of traffic safety and operation rules of air transport, which negligently resulted in the death of two or more persons")," the agency's Telegram channel says.
Violations of safety rules by the pilot who was operating the helicopter, as well as a possible technical malfunction of the aircraft, are considered as the causes of the crash. To establish all the circumstances, investigators are carrying out a set of measures involving aviation specialists, interrogating witnesses and appointing the necessary examinations.
The helicopter crash in the Perm Region became known earlier that day. It was clarified that the incident occurred on the territory of the Ashatli Park recreation center in the Bardym municipal district. Two people were killed in the crash.
According to the Izvestia source, the helicopter was making an unauthorized flight in the area of the Ashatli Park recreation center. Later, the source clarified that Ilyas Gimadutdinov, an ex-deputy and owner of the Tattranscom transport company, died in a plane crash in the Perm Region.
The preliminary cause of the helicopter crash in the Perm Region was a technical malfunction and pilot error, according to the Central Interregional Investigative Department of Transport of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation. On the same day, the Federal Air Transport Agency classified the helicopter crash in the Kama region as a disaster.
