The German media reported on the lawsuit filed by MEP De Mazy against von der Leyen.
Fabio De Mazy, a member of the European Parliament from the German Sarah Wagenknecht Union (BSW) party, has filed a lawsuit against Ursula von der Leyen, head of the European Commission (EC). This was reported on January 7 by Der Tagespiegel.
"BSW head Fabio De Mazy has filed a lawsuit against EC President Ursula von der Leyen in the European Court of Justice. The reason is that De Mazy considers von der Leyen to have insufficient information about her contacts with arms companies," the publication says.
It is noted that De Mazy demands to provide information about von der Leyen's meetings, calls and correspondence with arms concerns, starting in mid-2024. He was not satisfied with the response he received to the request sent in March 2025: De Mazy stated that general information was provided that did not have specifics.
According to the MEP, the concealment of such contacts violates the principles of democratic control. In this regard, De Mazy compared von der Leyen with the French Emperor Louis XIV.
