The State Duma told about the cleaning procedure of the house territory on public holidays

Management companies are required to ensure the cleaning of the surrounding area, including places where garbage accumulates, even on holidays. This was announced on January 7 by Sergey Kolunov, deputy chairman of the State Duma Committee on Construction and Housing and Communal Services.

According to him, the Management Committee or HOA are responsible for the order on land plots adjacent to apartment buildings, which receive a monthly fee from tenants for this.

"Cleaning of the house territory includes several items that depend on the time of the year. So, in winter, snow should be removed, sidewalks and parking lots should be cleaned, as well as manhole covers. In addition, garbage should not accumulate in the bins, and paths, platforms and entrances to entrances should be swept. It doesn't matter if it's a public holiday or not. There should be no situations where trash cans are overflowing and entrances are covered in mud. Residents can fairly demand this," Kolunov told RIA Novosti.

He added that if complaints to the Criminal Code do not help, residents can contact the state housing supervision authorities, the State Housing Inspectorate, Rospotrebnadzor or the prosecutor's office, and the relevant authorities are obliged to eliminate violations and fine the organization. It was noted that the owners can re-elect the management company at a general meeting if the current one does not cope with its duties, but it is allowed to do this no more than once a year.
