The survey warned about the peak of fraud during the New Year holidays
The peak of remote theft occurs in the period from the end of December to the middle of January, when citizens often lose their vigilance. This was announced on January 7 by Evgeny Masharov, a member of the commission of the Civic Chamber of the Russian Federation for the public examination of draft laws.
According to him, during the holidays, scammers actively use links to greeting cards, messages about discounts and bonuses, as well as requests to send SMS codes.
"As the statistics of appeals received by the Public Chamber of the Russian Federation show, the peak of theft committed remotely falls on the period from December 25 to January 15," Masharov told RIA Novosti.
He stressed that all categories of citizens are at risk, from minors to the elderly and the families of their participants.
