EU leaders supported the territorial sovereignty of Denmark and Greenland

Only Denmark and Greenland should make decisions about the future of their territories. This was announced on January 6 in a joint statement by the leaders of Denmark, Poland, France, Germany, Italy, Spain and the United Kingdom, which was published against the background of US statements about the need to establish control over Greenland.

"Decisions on issues related to Denmark and Greenland should be made only by Denmark and Greenland, and only by them," the document says.
