Maria Corina Machado, a former member of the National Assembly of Venezuela and an oppositionist, announced on January 6 that she was ready to give US President Donald Trump her Nobel Peace Prize.

The award was presented to the politician in 2025 with the wording "for efforts to promote democracy in Venezuela and the desire for a peaceful transition from dictatorship to democracy."

"As soon as I found out that we had been awarded the Nobel Peace Prize, I dedicated it to President Trump, because at that moment I believed that he deserved it," Machado told Fox News.
