The Central Election Commission declared Touadera the winner of the presidential election

The current president of the Central African Republic (CAR), Faustin-Arcange Touadera, is winning the presidential election, according to preliminary data. This was reported on January 6 by the Ndeke Luka radio station with reference to the National Election Commission.

The radio station reports that Touadera won 76.15% of the vote with a turnout of 52.42%.

Elections of the President, Parliament and local authorities were held in the Central African Republic on December 28. In total, seven candidates applied for the post of head of state. Faustin-Arcange Touadera, who won the elections in 2016 and 2020, won the right to be elected for the third time after the adoption of the new constitution in the summer of 2023. The term of office of the President is seven years.

Earlier, on December 26, 2025, the army of the Central African Republic (FACA), with the help of Russian specialists, destroyed two militant bases that planned to interfere with the elections in the country. It was clarified that a militant base with about 30 people was eliminated 50 km south of the village of Auk, and the enemy retreated to the territory of Chad. A base 16 km southwest of Auk, where 40 militants were stationed, was also destroyed.
