Dmitriev spoke about Greenland's decision on the proposals of the United States

Greenland has already made the final decision on the US proposals. This was announced on January 6 by Kirill Dmitriev, Special Representative of the President of the Russian Federation for Investment and economic cooperation with foreign countries, head of the Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF).

"It looks like Greenland has made a firm decision," he wrote on the social network X (ex. Twitter).

Earlier in the day, it was reported that the US administration is working on a draft agreement with Greenland on free association, which can improve the standard of living of the island's population. Under such agreements, the United States provides financial support, while the island retains internal self-government and transfers defense issues to Washington.

Attempts at direct negotiations with the authorities of Greenland were rejected, and the Danish Prime Minister declared the inadmissibility of any attempts to annex the island.
