Three people were killed and five injured in an accident in the Perm region.
In the Perm Region, three people were killed in an accident involving two cars, including a five-year-old girl, and five others were injured. This was reported on January 5 in the press service of the regional Investigative department of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation.
"The investigation revealed that in the evening, an accident involving two passenger cars occurred on the Perm—Berezniki highway. As a result of the incident, three people were killed, one of them a five—year-old girl, and five more people, including three minors, were injured in various degrees of severity," the ministry said in a statement.
Two adults and three children were injured in various degrees of severity, they are hospitalized and receiving medical care. A criminal case has been opened into the incident under Part 5 of Article 264 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Violation of traffic rules and operation of vehicles"). Investigators are considering traffic violations as the cause of the accident.
Earlier that day, it was reported that in Chuvashia, four people were injured in a collision between two cars on the Kugesi–Atlashevo–Novocheboksarsk highway. Among the injured was a two-year-old girl who was in a child safety seat in the back seat.
