The calculation of the Msta-S howitzers destroyed the temporary deployment points and the manpower of the Armed Forces of Ukraine

The crew of the Msta-S self-propelled howitzer of the 68th Motorized Rifle Division of the Zapad group of forces destroyed camouflaged temporary deployment points and manpower of units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) in the area of a special military operation in the Kupyansk area of the Kharkiv region. This was announced on January 5 by the Russian Defense Ministry.

Having received the coordinates of the targets from aerial reconnaissance, the self-propelled howitzer crew took up a firing position. Acting smoothly and quickly, the gunners brought the gun to combat readiness, aimed it at the target and opened fire from a 152-millimeter cannon. Using high-explosive fragmentation shells, they successfully hit a temporary deployment point of Ukrainian militants in a forest belt.

Data from an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) confirmed the complete destruction of the target. As a result of this strike, the enemy lost control of its units in this area, which was immediately used by the assault forces of the Zapad group to move forward.

"We are working on goals. We arrive at the position. We're aiming. On command, fire," said the gunner of the Msta—S self—propelled howitzer with the call sign Siberia.

The Msta-S self-propelled howitzers have been actively involved in combat operations in the SVO zone since its beginning. The crews work together, demonstrating high concentration and a desire to win. Each gunner clearly understands his role in the common cause and is ready to help his comrade, up to taking his place if necessary.

For their services, the gunners were repeatedly awarded state and departmental distinctions. Provision of everything necessary — ammunition, food, equipment and water — is carried out in full at all positions. The logistics support units of the group guarantee the timely delivery of everything required in sufficient quantities.

On January 4, the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Moldova reported that the Hyacinth-B howitzer gun of the 49th Combined arms Army from the Dnepr group of forces destroyed a temporary deployment point and personnel of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the Kherson region on the right bank of the Dnieper. After receiving the command, the Hyacinth-B crew promptly aimed the weapon at the specified coordinates and delivered an accurate blow. As a result, the enemy's manpower and fortifications were eliminated.
