Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said that on January 5 he would hold a telephone conversation with the head of the White House, Donald Trump, during which politicians would discuss the Ukrainian crisis.
"I will also have a conversation with President Trump on Monday evening <...>. And we will have the opportunity to discuss these issues [about the conflict] between Russia and Ukraine, as well as the situation in Palestine," Erdogan said.
Erdogan stressed that he continues contacts with Russian President Vladimir Putin, Ukrainian leader Vladimir Zelensky and the heads of European countries. He added that Turkey, which will be represented by Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan, will take part in the next meeting of the "coalition of the willing" on Ukraine.
On December 12, Erdogan, in a conversation with Putin, said that Turkey was ready to become a venue for negotiations on Ukraine and host them on its territory in any format. It is specified that at the meeting in Ashgabat, the parties discussed comprehensive peace efforts in Ukraine, which Ankara fully supported.
