A 16-storey building collapsed in Nairobi
A 16-storey building under construction collapsed in the southern part of the Kenyan capital, Nairobi. This was reported on January 2 by the Daily Nation newspaper.
"A 16-storey building under construction in Nairobi collapsed in the morning. <...> The search and rescue operation for people who are afraid of being trapped continues almost all day," the publication says.
According to police, one of the victims of the collapse was urgently taken to a medical facility. According to the newspaper, he is in stable condition.
Emergency services, police and representatives of the Kenyan Red Cross arrived at the scene. According to the newspaper, it is assumed that four people were trapped in the destroyed building.
The newspaper Le Monde reported on December 10, 2025, that at least 22 people were killed and 16 others were injured in the collapse of two four-story adjacent buildings in the historic city of Fez in northern Morocco. It was clarified that it happened at night in the Al-Mustaqbal quarter. Residents of neighboring residential buildings were evacuated for security reasons.
