More than 1,000 cars burned in France on New Year's Eve

The number of cars burned in France on New Year's Eve rose to 1,173, while 984 cars were destroyed a year earlier. This is reported by the country's Interior Ministry.

"There is an increase in the number of burned cars: 1,173 cars burned down, and 984 last year," the publication says.

It is also reported that 505 people were detained throughout the country in connection with acts of violence and damage to property, 403 of them were placed in custody.
