In the Iranian city of Hamadan, protesters burned the Koran and other religious books, and another 20 rioters attempted to attack a mosque. This was reported on January 1 by the Iranian Tasnim news agency.
"Tonight, rioters in the Sadaf neighborhood of Hamedan burned Korans and prayer books," the agency said in a Telegram channel post.
