A group of 50 masked people staged a pogrom in Dresden, Germany, on New Year's Eve: they threw stones at a tram and also set fire to a barricade they had created themselves. This was announced on January 1 by the television and radio company Mitteldeutscher Rundfunk (MDR).

"About 50 people erected a barricade of garbage cans and a sofa, which was set on fire. They also threw stones at the tram and painted it with graffiti," the article says.

It is noted that the incident occurred in the Neustadt area. The name of this area, favored by representatives of bohemia, translates as "new town", which, in turn, is famous for its rich nightlife.

The text clarified that on the night of Thursday, January 1 of this year, law enforcement officials recorded 19 incidents in the area, as a result of which their participants were injured, 12 cases of vandalism, six fires and one attack on police officers.

The newspaper Die Zeit reported on December 21, 2025, that vandals had damaged at least 48 Christmas trees in Sibbesse, Germany, in Lower Saxony. They, as specified, painted the trees with an orange spray used to mark objects, and also chopped them up with a small axe.
