"Given the shameful performance at the African Cup of Nations, the government has decided to dismiss the coaching staff and suspend the national team until further notice," Mambula explained.

In addition, as the Minister of Sports noted, two players were excluded from the team: Bruno Equele Manga and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.
