One of the four victims of a drone strike by the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) on a cafe and hotel in the Kherson region, hospitalized in the Dzhankoy central district hospital, is in serious condition, in intensive care. On January 1, Vyacheslav Ovchinnikov, the chief physician of the medical institution, told Izvestia.

"The operation was completed successfully, and all necessary measures were completed during the surgical treatment. Currently, her condition is stabilizing, she is on an artificial ventilation device," he said.

According to the specialist, two women are in a moderate condition, and two others remain in serious condition. Ovchinnikov clarified that the main injuries of the victims were related to shrapnel wounds.

The doctor noted that the rest of the injured, who were taken to the hospital, received qualified medical care, after which three were evacuated to third-level medical institutions in Simferopol.

The governor of the Kherson region, Vladimir Saldo, said that after the Ukrainian Armed Forces attack on the region, 19 people remain in hospitals. It is noted that six victims, including two children, were sent to the Crimean clinical hospital for treatment. The rest of the hospitalized were distributed to medical institutions in three districts of the Kherson region.

Earlier that day, 24 people died in Khorlakh, Kherson region, as a result of a strike by three Ukrainian Armed Forces drones on a cafe and a hotel. Six victims, including children, are in serious condition. The Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation has also opened a criminal case under Article 205 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Terrorist act").
