The Mayor of Moscow spoke about the programs of assistance to the fighters of the SVO and residents of new regions

Since the first days of the special military operation, Muscovites have been sending basic necessities and gifts to the soldiers of the SVO, as well as residents of new and border regions of Russia. The key social project of the city, Moscow Helps, has been uniting citizens, public organizations and businesses since 2022, and during this time almost 5 million units of various goods have been collected. This was stated by the mayor of the capital, Sergei Sobyanin.

"Moscow, the heart of the country and the largest industrial center, makes a huge contribution to providing our army with everything necessary," he wrote on his channel in the IACH. At the same time, the mayor noted that "not only technology and production are important, but human warmth is also important."

Sobyanin recalled that 15 Moscow Helps headquarters accept clothes, long-term storage products, personal hygiene products, as well as books, toys, coloring books, pens and gouache for children. "You can transfer bed linen, household appliances — generators, electrical appliances, small refrigerators and extension cords," the mayor wrote.

He also spoke about the work of the volunteer district centers "Good Place". There, residents of the capital "weave camouflage nets, make trench candles, dry army showers and tactical bracelets, and knit warm clothes," Sobyanin said.

The Gift Factory pavilions will be open at more than 30 festival venues until February 28. Through them, sweets, toys, books, and educational supplies can be given to children living in new regions, gift sets and warm clothes can be given to participants, and reflective bracelets and stickers can be given to residents of border regions.

According to Sobyanin, the active participation of Muscovites in collecting aid is "a clear proof that the whole city is with the front and with the residents of the new regions."
