The silence of the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights after the Ukrainian drone attack on the residence of Russian President Vladimir Putin suggests that the organization approves of the actions of Kiev, which has turned to state terrorism. This was announced on December 30 by Russia's Permanent Representative to the UN in Geneva, Gennady Gatilov.

He noted that Moscow is perplexed by the lack of reaction to the attack by the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights Volker Turk, while the number of states condemning the attack is increasing.

"We consider this behavior as another confirmation of the Turk's political bias and unwillingness to give a principled assessment of Kiev's criminal actions," the diplomatic agency's Telegram channel quoted Gatilov as saying.

The Permanent Representative noted that OHCHR, in all likelihood, can, as always, refer to "a lack of information and unconfirmed facts."

"We expect a proper reaction, as well as an assessment of the relevant special procedures of the HRC. The absence of one would be tantamount to tacit cover—up of another crime by the Kiev clique, which has switched to a policy of state terrorism," Gatilov said.

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said on December 29 that the Ukrainian Armed Forces had carried out a drone attack on Putin's residence in the Novgorod region. According to the diplomat, the air defense forces destroyed 91 drones. There was no information about the victims or the damage received. Russian presidential aide Yuri Ushakov said that Trump was shocked to learn about the attack on the Russian leader's residence during telephone conversations with him.

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said on December 30 that the attack on Putin's residence from Ukraine was a terrorist attack.
