The doctor listed the diseases masquerading as fatigue
Maria Lavrenova, a neurologist, told us what diseases can disguise themselves as fatigue. In conversation with Lenta. On Tuesday, December 30, she warned that vitamin D deficiency, anemia and other diseases can disguise themselves as ordinary fatigue.
She recommended seeking medical help if the feeling of fatigue persists for more than two to four weeks. According to the neurologist, vitamin D deficiency is often detected in winter, which can be manifested by muscle weakness, lethargy and constant fatigue. At the same time, the specialist stressed that you should not take the vitamin yourself — first you need to take tests so that the doctor chooses the correct dosage.
Also, she noted, iron deficiency anemia or latent iron deficiency are often disguised as ordinary fatigue. In such cases, weakness, drowsiness, pallor, shortness of breath during exertion, palpitations and other symptoms are possible. Fatigue can also be caused by endocrine diseases, such as hypothyroidism, as well as some mental disorders.
The doctor explained that if you feel better after rest and normalization of nutrition, this is a good sign. However, if fatigue persists even after a full sleep, is not associated with overloads and significantly reduces performance for more than two to four weeks, you should consult a therapist or neurologist.
On December 17, psychoanalyst Stella Gusarova spoke about the causes of total fatigue before the New Year. The expert explained that the lack of a festive mood is associated with general anxiety and a loss of a basic sense of security.
