One person was killed and four injured in an accident near Orenburg
One person was killed and four were injured in a collision between two cars on a federal highway in the Orenburg region. This was announced on December 30 by the regional State Traffic Inspectorate.
"The accident occurred on 656 km of the Kazan– Orenburg –Akbulak federal highway – the border of the Republic of Kazakhstan (near the village of Bikkulovo)," the department said.
According to police, a 20-year-old Toyota driver lost control while overtaking, drove into the oncoming lane and collided with a Gazelle. The driver of the car died on the spot. The driver and passenger of the Gazelle, as well as two Toyota passengers, were hospitalized with injuries. An accident investigation is underway.
On December 27, the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia in Dagestan reported that an accident involving seven cars occurred on the federal highway Kavkaz in the republic. As a result of the incident, three people were injured. According to preliminary data, the accident occurred due to icy conditions and drivers' failure to maintain a safe distance.
