Lavrov: Europe is trying to save the Kiev regime for a new aggression against Russia
Europe's main goal is to prepare a new aggression against Russia, as evidenced by the continued support of Ukraine. This was announced on December 30 by Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov.
"The main goal of Brussels, Berlin, Paris, and London is to preserve a regime that sleeps and sees, so that it can be helped to survive and continue to control some territory where <...>..> the Russian language and Russian—language media, where canonical Orthodoxy is persecuted, are legally prohibited," he said, his words were quoted on the Foreign Ministry's website.
He added that without the cessation of such support, the success of negotiations on a long-term settlement of the Ukrainian conflict is impossible.
Lavrov said the day before that the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) had carried out a drone attack on the residence of Russian President Vladimir Putin in the Novgorod region. According to the diplomat, 91 drones were destroyed by the air defense forces.
Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said on December 30 that the attack on Putin's residence from Ukraine was a terrorist attack. He noted that the attack was also directed against Trump and was intended to disrupt his efforts for a peaceful settlement of the Ukrainian conflict.
