The sexologist spoke about the peculiarities of resuming relationships with exes

Emotional attachment helps to revive an alliance with exes, which usually pushes for the restoration of relationships, psychotherapist and sexologist Alexey Vilkov commented to Izvestia.

"The main advantage of such a renaissance in relationships is that people already know each other well — they know both the positive qualities of a partner and his shortcomings. Therefore, you no longer have to wait for any surprises and there is no need to try to somehow prove yourself in order to interest and intrigue a person. Such a relationship can be more or less stable if both decide to start all over again, without recalling past grievances," Vilkov explained.

According to the sexologist, there is a risk that old problems will arise in a renewed relationship if the partners have not resolved past contradictions and have not forgiven each other for the shortcomings that led to the breakup.

"People are not capable of radically changing for the better. You should not count on this when reuniting. If the partners are disappointed again, it will lead to a new breakup or deterioration of physical health due to moral suffering," said Vilkov.
