On January 11, the Yauza Ecocenter will hold an educational program dedicated to the Day of Nature Reserves and National Parks. Children from the age of seven and their parents will be able to take a virtual trip through the most picturesque protected areas of the country, the press service of the Prefecture of the Northern Administrative District reported.

Visitors will be offered to go on a multimedia guided tour "Day of Nature Reserves and National Parks", listen to a lecture "Microcosm and its inhabitants" and participate in the event "Nature Reserve Dictation".

Participants will learn how bison are saved in the Prioksko-Terrasny Nature Reserve, why the Oka Nature Reserve is called the crane's homeland, and how the Amur tiger is protected in the Sikhote-Alinsky Nature Reserve. The guests will also get acquainted with the Kandalaksha Nature Reserve, where the rare gaga bird nests, and virtually visit the Great Arctic Reserve, the kingdom of polar bears, said Victoria Galiakberova, head of the Yauza Ecocenter.

In addition, a meeting is planned with specialists from the Bryansk Forest Biosphere Reserve, which is included in the UNESCO list of biosphere reserves. Experts will talk about the black stork, the symbol of this place, and about the work to restore the bison population. In addition, ornithologists and entomologists will share their knowledge about rare birds and insects.

The tour part will end with a meeting with wildlife photographer Yuri Sokolkov. He will present a series of photographs taken in nature reserves in Moscow and the Moscow region, and will tell you about the professional secrets of photographing animals in their natural environment.

At the end of the program, participants will have a "Reserved Dictation" — an intellectual quiz with questions on geography, biology and law.

"The questions were prepared by the staff of Russia's largest nature reserves and cover a wide variety of topics, from the habitat of bats to the geography of the most important protected areas and their unique biodiversity," Galiakberova said.

All important news is on the Izvestia channel in the MAX messenger.
