The command post of the engineering and sapper platoon of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) was destroyed by the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation in the Sumy area as a result of a high-precision weapon strike. This was reported on December 30 by RIA Novosti with reference to Russian law enforcement agencies.

"The high-precision weapons strikes destroyed the command post of the engineer-sapper platoon of the mechanized battalion of the 17th separate heavy mechanized brigade," the agency's source said.

He clarified that as a result of the strike, the commander of the AFU unit was eliminated.
