On December 29, Nicaraguan co-presidents Daniel Ortega and Rosario Murillo expressed solidarity with Russian President Vladimir Putin over the attempt by the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) to attack the residence of the Russian leader.

"We express to you our strongest solidarity in connection with the terrorist act of Ukraine," the El19digital portal quotes the text of the letter.
