The head of the White House, Donald Trump, expressed doubts that China would take military action against Taiwan. The US president said this on December 29 at a press conference after meeting with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

"I don't think he [Chinese President Xi Jinping] is going to do anything," Trump said.
