A charity curling tournament among large families will be held in Moscow on January 5 as part of the Winter in Moscow project and the Journey to Christmas festival. This was told by the organizers of the competition.
The championship will be held on a specially equipped ice rink on Shkolnaya Street. It is suitable for both beginners and experienced players. Six teams will take part in the tournament, each of which will have five players.
Two prepared 35-meter-long ice tracks await the participants. A set of equipment was also prepared for them, including curling stones, brushes and vests.
At the end of the matches, an award ceremony will be held, where the winners will receive medals and diplomas, and young athletes will receive sweet gifts.
Earlier, master classes organized by famous curlers were held on Shkolnaya Street. Among the mentors were Lyudmila Privivkova, who made a huge contribution to the development of curling in Russia, as well as Timur Gadzhikhanov and Artur Ali. Ekaterina Kuzmina, Kira Ezeh and Rita Fomina also shared their experiences with the participants.
Winter in Moscow is a large—scale project that includes cultural, educational and sports events. Special attention is paid to the support of participants and veterans of the special military operation and their families, as well as those who provide assistance to the front.
