Cosmonauts supported the project for the development of the Santa Claus theme park in Veliky Ustyug

The Mission Control Center of TsNIIMash JSC (part of the Roscosmos State Corporation) hosted a New Year's Eve event with the participation of the All—Russian Santa Claus from Veliky Ustyug, children participating in charity programs and the crew of the International Space Station. This was reported in the press service of the HOUSE.The Russian Federation, which is currently developing a master plan for Veliky Ustyug.

During the communication session, the cosmonauts congratulated the participants on the upcoming New Year and handed over a symbolic gift — a picture of the Santa Claus theme park in Veliky Ustyug, taken from orbit. It is reported that the HOUSE.The Russian Federation, together with AFK Sistema and the government of the Vologda Region, is developing a master plan for the development of the city, providing for the creation of social infrastructure, restoration of cultural heritage sites and the development of a theme park.

"Now, when the whole country is sharing its dreams with Santa Claus, it is especially symbolic that our projects have found a response in Roscosmos. This is the best proof that we are looking in the same direction and speak the same language — the language of great horizons and large-scale achievements. Our ambitious goal is to make Veliky Ustyug not just a popular tourist destination, but an all—Russian center of attraction for the younger generation, filled with deep festive meanings and traditions," said DOM Urban Environment Development Director.Russian Federation Anton Finogenov.

The event culminated in the children's communication with cosmonauts Sergey Kud-Sverchkov, Oleg Platonov and Sergey Mikaev. The crew expressed interest in the further development of the project and wished it a successful implementation.

"The Theme Park project involves a long—term transformation of the territory, the formation of a sustainable tourism ecosystem and the expansion of educational and cultural programs for children and adults — so that the dreams that resound here in Roscosmos today can be continued on Earth," said Oksana Kosachenko, Chief Investment Officer of AFK Sistema.
