The combat patrol areas of the Oreshnik missile system have been identified in Belarus, and it has been placed on the highest level of readiness. This was announced on December 26 by the Chief of the General Staff, First Deputy Minister of Defense of the Republic, Major General Pavel Muraveyko.

"Yes, indeed, the Oreshnik complex is located on our territory. The areas of his combat patrol have been identified. Combat calculations are being coordinated <...> so that it can be deployed and used. All these measures constitute a complex of works to reduce the launch time of a combat missile," Muraveyko said in an interview with ONT TV channel.

The head of the General Staff explained that putting the complex on combat duty means putting it in a state of readiness to perform its tasks. When asked about the deployment time of the Oreshnik, he replied that the timing depends on the degree of readiness and other elements, but is calculated in "a few minutes."

"This is quite, let's say, an intimate issue from the point of view of the use of missile weapons. It can be different, it depends on the degree of readiness, on other elements, but it takes only a few minutes," the Major General noted.

On December 24, President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko heard a report by the country's Defense Minister Viktor Khrenin on the deployment of the Oreshnik missile system in the country and its deployment on combat duty. The Minister reported on the recent launches of the Polonaise-M, a modernized domestic multiple launch rocket system with an increased range and improved firing accuracy. The successful experience of modernizing the Buk anti-aircraft missile system and plans for its supply to the troops were also noted.

Prior to that, on December 22, Lukashenko announced that the Oreshnik was on combat duty in the republic. He also stated that a maximum of 10 missile systems will be deployed in Belarus.
