The Army of the Central African Republic (FACA), with the help of Russian specialists, destroyed two militant bases that planned to interfere with the elections in the country scheduled for December 28. This was reported on December 26 in the Ministry of Defense of the Central African Republic.

"While patrolling the territory of FACA, together with Russian specialists, bases of militants who arrived in the territory of the Central African Republic to destabilize the situation ahead of the December 28 elections were discovered in the immediate vicinity of the border with Chad and Sudan. They were scattered," the department told TASS.

He clarified that a militant base with about 30 people was eliminated 50 km south of the village of Auk, and the enemy retreated to the territory of Chad. A base 16 km southwest of Auk, where 40 militants were stationed, was also destroyed.

In addition, as the agency's interlocutor noted, a three-man foot patrol was destroyed in the northwest of Jazira. A group of up to 60 militants was found 13 km southwest of Tissi. During the fighting, most of the enemy was destroyed, the rest retreated towards the border with Chad and Sudan.

On September 27, Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said that Ukrainian militants were training terrorist groups in Mali and supplying them with drones. He added that this information is confirmed.

Mali's Foreign Minister Abdoulaye Diop said on April 7 that Ukraine poses a threat to Africa's security and supports terrorist groups in the Sahel. According to him, Kiev's support led to the deaths of many Malian soldiers.
