A fire broke out in an apartment building in Tulun, Irkutsk region, which killed a two-year-old boy. This was announced on December 26 by the press service of the Prosecutor's office of the Irkutsk region.

"The Tulun interdistrict prosecutor's office organized an inspection following a report of a fire on 12/25/2025 in an apartment building on Zhelgayskaya Street in Tulun, which resulted in the death of a two—year-old boy," the Telegram channel said.

According to the prosecutor's office, two brothers of the deceased, aged 5 and 8, as well as a two-year-old girl, were taken to the hospital. It is reported that the children were at home without adult supervision. The prosecutor's office opened a criminal case under Part 1 of Article 109 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Causing death by negligence").

The day before, a criminal case on negligence was initiated in Norilsk after the death of a five-month-old child from exhaustion. The infant's death occurred on December 17, when he and his two young sisters were under the care of a 15-year-old sister. Their mother, a 35-year-old unemployed woman, systematically left the children without food for several days.
