People's Artist of the USSR Oleg Basilashvili and actor Andrei Urgant on December 25, in a conversation with Izvestia, noted the contribution of People's Artist of Russia Vera Alentova to the development of Russian cinema, calling her a good actress.

"A good actress. <... She has done a lot for Russian art and Soviet art," said Urgant.

He called Alentova's death a grief and a personal tragedy for the actress' loved ones. The actor expressed his condolences to her family and expressed the hope that the memory of Alentova would be preserved as long as possible.

Basilashvili, in turn, called Alentova a sympathetic and kind person, as well as a wonderful actress. He also expressed his condolences over the death of the People's Artist.

Alentova's death at the age of 83 was reported earlier that day. Footage of Alentova's hospitalization after visiting the Mayakovsky Theater, where the farewell ceremony with actor Anatoly Lobotsky was held, was also published. The source of Izvestia reported that Alentova was hospitalized in a state of clinical death — her heart stopped.
