Sparkling wine sales increased by 30% in autumn%
Sparkling wine sales increased by 30% in October–November 2025. SimpleWine analysts told Izvestia about this on December 25 based on the results of sales in wine stores compared to the same period last year.
According to them, prosecco has become the leader of this New Year's Eve season, just like last year. However, if in 2024 it occupied 42% of the sales structure, now it is 52% (an increase of +60%).
At the same time, champagne and cremans took the first place in terms of sales growth in the New Year period with an increase of 43 and 34%, while prosecco added 11%. If you look at the share in the total volume, champagne is in fourth place in sales, cremans are in third, and prosecco is in second, second only to classic sparkling wines — 38% versus 41%.
If we talk about the country of origin, the share of Russian sparkling wines in the total sales of sparkling wines in October and November in wine stores reached 6% (an increase of 40%), and across all channels of the Simple Group — 30% (an increase of 12%).
In December, the demand for Russian sparkling wines continues to grow: in three weeks, sales increased by 50% compared to last year and by 164% compared to the first three weeks of November.
Earlier, on December 13, Fatima Balikoeva, associate professor of the Department of Fermentation Technology and Winemaking at ROSBIOTECH University and head of the Academy of Cavists and Sommeliers, said that on the eve of the holidays, demand for sparkling wines is growing, but the designations "Champagne", "Russian Champagne", "Soviet Champagne" and "Sparkling wine" on the labels mean different standards and approaches to production.
