The European Union (EU) is in a state of disintegration and may cease to exist unless it is seriously reorganized. This opinion was shared by Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban in an interview with Magyar Nemzet newspaper on December 24.

"Today, the European Union is in a state of disintegration. The process of disintegration is taking place simultaneously with the strengthening of the Brussels bureaucracy for empire—building," Orban said.

According to him, the process of disintegration lies in the fact that Brussels makes decisions, but they are not implemented. He noted that at first one country does not comply with them, then two, then three, and "decision makers in the EU are constantly forced to retreat."

Hungary does not implement the migration pact, and for this it is fined € 1 million a day, when Poles do the same, they receive a reward, Orban added.

"The EU constantly restricts the sovereignty of states, while it cannot use the powers it has acquired...> If there is no rapid and deep restructuring — and this is possible — then the disintegration will reach a point, and there will be no turning back," the Hungarian Prime Minister said.

Il Fatto Quotidiano newspaper reported on December 23 that a direct conflict with Moscow could lead to the disintegration of the EU. It was also noted that the territorial integrity of the Union States could be under attack.

On December 19, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov noted that Russia has no aggressive plans against the European Union and NATO, it can record this in writing. At the same time, the minister declared Russia's readiness to respond to possible attacks by the European Union.
