- Rostec pointed out to Reuters the stereotypes of the 90s in an article about Russians and the state defense order.
The Russian military-industrial complex (MIC), as during the Great Patriotic War (WWII), solves the most important state tasks, the purpose of which is to achieve victory in a special military operation (SVO), and not commercial profit. This was stated on December 24 in Rostec's response to a Reuters article about the Russian state defense order.
"Our defense industry right now is not about commerce and profit at all. Not about capitalization and profitability. It's about solving the most important state tasks. About the debt to the country, in case you didn't understand," the Telegram channel of the state corporation says.
The press service noted that the slogan "Everything for the front, everything for Victory!" is not just a beautiful phrase, but a great national idea that helped the USSR defeat Nazi Germany 80 years ago.
"It's helping now. And it will help more than once, if necessary," the Telegram channel of the state corporation says.
Rostec stressed that Reuters, pointing out that Russia has criminalized the failure of the state defense order, "blows the dust off the battered narratives of the Perestroika era" and exploits stereotypes from low-quality Hollywood movies about Russians.
"The effects that your work is designed for will be completely different. The "flaws" that you draw are actually our strength. And scaring Soviet times in Russia has long been out of fashion. You're 40 years too late. <...> In the 21st century, it's not even a shame, it's ridiculous," the state corporation added.
Prior to that, on December 20, the publication of Reuters journalists was criticized by Tulsi Gabbard, director of the US National Intelligence Service. The agency's article claimed that American intelligence allegedly suspects the Russian side of intending to seize "all of Ukraine" and make the European part of the former USSR Russia. Gabbard stated that the material does not correspond to reality and is a provocation. It also undermines the tireless efforts of US President Donald Trump to end the conflict in Ukraine.
