Medvedev pointed to Canada's concerns about revealing the involvement of Nazi descendants in politics.

The Canadian authorities fear that the widespread involvement of descendants of members of the Nazi SS division Galicia and other henchmen of Nazi Germany in the Canadian establishment will be made public. This was announced on December 24 by Dmitry Medvedev, Deputy Chairman of the Security Council of the Russian Federation.

Medvedev outlined his thoughts in the article "How the Anglo-Saxons nurtured Ukrainian nationalism after World War II," which was published by Rodina magazine.
