Dmitriev suggested von der Leyen exchange US sanctions

Kirill Dmitriev, head of the Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF), proposed to Ursula von der Leyen, head of the European Commission (EC), to exchange American sanctions. He wrote about this on December 23 in the social network X.

"If the State Department lacks sanctions, I can share with Ursula my own, [imposed during the 46th President of the United States Joe] Biden. Why not exchange sanctions?"— Dmitriev joked.

The message was a response to the post of US Secretary of State Marco Rubio about the State Department's intention to take steps to ban "leading figures of the global censorship and industrial complex" from entering the country.
