There have been 305 road accidents in Russia over the past 24 hours.

Over the past day, 305 road accidents have occurred on Russian roads, in which 42 people were killed and 383 injured. 23 of the dead were drivers and passengers. This was reported to Izvestia on December 23 by the State Traffic Inspectorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia.

As a result of 107 road accidents, 52 of which occurred at pedestrian crossings and 66 outside their area of operation, seven pedestrians were killed, 104 more were injured in various degrees of severity. Among the injured were 19 underage pedestrians, 14 of whom were injured while crossing the roadway at designated locations.

17 accidents involving buses were recorded, in which there were no fatalities, but 27 road users needed medical help. 10 bus accidents were caused by traffic violations committed by drivers of other vehicles.

Also, over the past day, 30 accidents involving minors were registered, in which 32 young road users, including 13 passengers, were injured. One child passenger was killed.

So, in the Primorsky Territory, in the early morning, on 643 km of the federal highway A-370 "Ussuri", a 42-year-old female driver of a passenger car with a right-hand drive overtaking drove into the oncoming lane, where she collided with three trucks. As a result of the accident, the four-year-old son of the culprit of the collision was killed, who was transported in the front passenger seat in a child restraint with a seat belt fastened. The female driver was hospitalized with injuries.

The State Traffic Inspectorate reminded motorists that when driving in a car with child passengers, they should always choose the safest driving style.

"At such times, be especially attentive, collected and disciplined drivers. We recommend avoiding risky driving, distraction, speeding, sudden lane changes, overtaking, and other dangerous maneuvers. Remember that not only your life and health depend on your driving skills, driving experience, well—being and law-abiding driving behavior, but also the lives and health of other road users, including your young passengers," said the head of the Department for Road Safety Promotion and Prevention of child traffic injuries of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia. The day before, the Moscow State Traffic Inspectorate noted a decrease in the number of car-sharing accidents. In the first 11 months of this year, the number of accidents involving car—sharing drivers decreased by 7.3% in the capital, and the number of victims decreased by 3.7%.
