Slutsky proposed to introduce a new category of labor veterans

State Duma deputies from the LDPR faction, led by Leonid Slutsky, have introduced a bill on the introduction of a new category of veterans in Russia — "Veteran of labor activity." This was reported on December 25 by RIA Novosti.

"The bill proposes to introduce a new category of veterans — veterans of labor activity, which will include persons with employment (insurance) The length of service required for pension purposes is at least 40 years for men and 35 years for women," the explanatory note says.

According to the document, the title will be accompanied by social benefits, including 50% compensation for housing and communal services, the primary right to install an apartment phone, the advantage of joining housing and garage cooperatives, as well as the preservation of the right to medical care in former clinics.

Currently, the federal title of "Labor Veteran" requires not only seniority, but also a state or departmental award, which, according to the authors of the initiative, unfairly deprives the support of many citizens who have worked conscientiously all their lives but have not been awarded awards.

The Government of the Russian Federation is proposed to entrust the determination of the procedure for awarding a new title. The bill has already been submitted to the State Duma for consideration.

On November 18, Slutsky, commenting on a bill developed by deputies of his faction to exempt large families from paying for parking throughout the Russian Federation, said that this measure would ensure equal guarantees for all large families. According to him, a similar practice operates in Moscow and St. Petersburg, but in most regions of the country there are no such benefits. He pointed out that the number of large families in the country has already exceeded 2.5 million, and most of them live outside the two capitals. In his opinion, this measure, among other things, helps to strengthen the institution of the family.
