Private Ilya Turashev, during a combat mission, destroyed an enemy reconnaissance drone that was correcting fire on the positions of Russian fighters. The press service of the Russian Ministry of Defense reported on the exploits of servicemen of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation in the area of a special military operation on Tuesday, December 23.
It is noted that after the start of the shelling of the positions of the Russian Armed Forces, Turashev took a favorable firing position and opened fire on the drone of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) from his personal small arms.
As a result, the target was destroyed, and the enemy lost the opportunity to adjust fire and fire on Russian positions. The ministry stressed that as a result of the selfless actions of an ordinary soldier, enemy forces were unable to reconnoiter the area and destroy the camouflaged strongholds and equipment of the Russian military.
The Defense Ministry also said that Junior Sergeant Ruslan Zhilyaev led an engineering and reconnaissance group, which, under his leadership, was able to detect and neutralize more than 30 explosive elements. It is specified that most of them were installed not in the standard version, using magnetic fuses. In addition, the sappers neutralized cluster munitions of foreign manufacture.
Earlier, on December 20, the Ministry of Defense noted that Sergeant Major Basang Slinkin, performing a combat mission to protect the area of operations of the artillery of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation in the area of the SVO, prevented a sabotage group of the Armed Forces of Ukraine from entering Russian positions. Thanks to the brave and decisive actions of the foreman, the camouflaged positions of the Russian artillery were not revealed, and the enemy suffered losses.
