The traditional concert "New Year with MGASO" will be held in Moscow

On December 30, the Moscow State Academic Symphony Orchestra will present for the 26th time the traditional concert "New Year with MGASO" in the Great Hall of the Conservatory. Each time, the orchestra takes listeners into the enchanting world of festive Vienna to the music of the Strauss family and their contemporaries.

For the first time in the history of MGASO New Year's concerts, Ivan Nikiforchin, artistic director of the orchestra, winner of the Presidential Prize for Young Cultural Figures of the Russian Federation, winner of the First International Rachmaninov Piano, Composer and Conductor Competition, is at the conductor's desk.

"Dear friends! I am incredibly happy that the New Year is coming! On December 30, MGASO and I will give a big solo concert of the orchestra. Our friend Alexey Barabanov will lead this wonderful concert. Be sure to come! You can't imagine how many amazing things there are, what surprises and discoveries await you, what melodies of the Strauss family you will hear. You will never forget this evening! Real miracles happen before the New Year. And miracles will happen at our concert!" he said.

This year's program will include works by Johann Strauss–son, Joseph Strauss, Gioacchino Rossini and Franz Lehar. Listeners will celebrate the New Year with their favorite melodies of operetta overtures, waltzes, polkas and marches.
